In 2002, New Mexico Canine Rescue and Safeguard, Inc. applied for its 501(c)3 status and formed a corporation designed to support a no kill animal shelter.  We received non-profit status July 14, 2003.

Our mission is to provide rehabilitation and adoption opportunities for homeless dogs, in an environment where euthanasia merely for convenience is not an option.

NMCRS provides a no kill shelter for the county of Taos, as well as other shelters throughout the state of New Mexico.
